Dalhousie Dharamshala Holiday Packages 2015

Dharamshala has a lot to offer ranging from ancient temples, churches and monasteries to museums and ancient towns. The best time to visit Dharamshala is from September to October and again from March to June. The summer months are best suited for activities like sightseeing and trekking. Those who love snow can visit the region in December/January when there is heavy snowfall and the Himalayas are covered in snow. However, temperatures go well below 0⁰ Celsius, so adequate protection should be taken. Another good time to visit is during the festival of Drukpa Teshi, which is held in August/September.

Dalhousie offers interesting period architecture that range from ancient temples to Gothic styled churches. St. Andrew's and St. Patrick's at Balun, the St. Francis' Church at Subash Chowk, and St. John's Church at Gandhi Chowk are some of the most frequented churches. The exquisite architectural beauty of the summer palace of the Chamba rulers at Jandrighat is also popular. Panchpula and Subhash Baoli of Dalhousie are known for the monuments of the famous freedom fighters like Ajit Singh and Subhash Chandra Bose.There are several places within and around Dalhousie that are good picnic spots. Dainkund, Khajjiar, Chamba, Palampur, Baijnath, Bir, Billing, Triund, Dharamsala, etc. are some of the prominent places that attract tourists. One can witness a blend of adventure, historic significance and natural beauty at all the major tourist spots in Dalhousie.  

Those who want to experience snowfall can visit during the months of December to February when snowfall occurs. However, the weather is quite chilly during this time and adequate protection must be taken. June-September and October-November see some rainfall. October and November are also the months when the festivals of Dusshera and Diwali are celebrated with pomp and gaiety and are a good time to visit. Like in the rest of North India, Holi is also an important festival here.

On arrival at the Amritsar railway station / Airport (on your own), you will be received by driver. Once you board your vehicle, you will drive to Dalhousie. Dalhousie is a famous hill station in snow capped mountains. On arrival at Dalhousie, check into your hotel evening is free for leisure Overnight at hotel in Dalhousie.

Day 2: Dalhousie – local sightseeing
Today after breakfast, proceed for full day tour of local sightseeing. We will cover all major sightseeing places like Panchpula, Subash boil, Bara Pathar, St John’s church, bakrota hills etc. Evening is free for. Overnight at hotel in Dalhousie.

Day 3: Dalhousie – Khajjiar - Dalhousie
Today after breakfast, proceeds for Khajjiar. Khajjiar is also known as mini Switzerland of India. Full day is free for leisure activities. Evening return to Dalhousie. Overnight at hotel in Dalhousie.

Day 4: Dalhousie – Dharamshala
Today after breakfast, check out from hotel and proceed for Dharamshala. On arrival at Dharamshala, check into your hotel. Evening is free for leisure activities. Overnight at hotel in Dharamshala.

Day 5: Dharamshala
After breakfast, proceed for half day sightseeing tour of Dharamshala covering The Tibetan Medical centre, Church of St. John, local monasteries etc. Evening is free for leisure activities. Overnight at hotel in Dharamshala.

Day 6: Dharamshala – Amritsar Departure (200 Kms / Approx 5 hrs )
