Ooty Holiday Packages 2015

Ooty, the colloquial of Ootacamund, is a popular hill station of South India in the Nilgiri District of Tamil Nadu. Also known as Udhagamandalam, it is a municipality and the district capital. The town lies at an altitude of 2286 m and has been remarked as the ‘queen of hill stations’ by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. The natural surroundings of Ooty include landscapes, dense forest reserves and national parks. This hill station is popular for its tea farming as well as oil extraction industry, wherein the oil is obtained from its eucalyptus trees, lemon grass, geranium, clove and camphor.

A major attraction is the mountain train journey to Ooty on a ratchet and pinion track. The journey covers 46 km and the train starts from Kallar, near Mettupalayam and passes through steep curves and long tunnels along deep ravines full of green vegetation, streams and tea gardens. 
The Ooty Lake is a major attraction of the hill station and is popular for boating. Another famous attraction includes the Government Museum, which contains the history of the Nilgiri District. Other popular tourist attractions of Ooty include the Deer Park, Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuarythe Rose GardenOoty Botanical Garden, the Stone House, etc.

Tour Itinerary :

Day 1: Day 1: Bangalore – Coorg(5 h 2 min/260kms)
On arrival at the Bangalore Airport / Railway station, you will meet our representative and start your journey to Coorg. Check into the hotel and relax in the evening. Enjoy the activities that the resort has to offer and have a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel in Coorg.

Day 2: Coorg
After a delectable breakfast, go for sightseeing of Coorg, also known as Scotland of India. Visit Tala cauvery, the birthplace of river Cauvery. Proceed to visit Bagamandala, known for its sacred temples, Raja's seat that is a picturesque garden and a picnic spot, as well as the amazing Abbi falls. After a busy day, return back to the hotel in the evening and enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel in Coorg.

Day 3:Coorg – Ooty(4 h 58 min/221kms)
Today after a hearty breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Ooty. On arrival, check in to the hotel and later during the day, go for the exciting sightseeing tour of Ooty. Soak in the beauty of the placid Pykara lake and the Doddapetta peak that is ideal for photography. No visit to Ooty is complete without a stroll in the Rose Garden. After viewing these mesmerizing locations, proceed to one of the finest natural golf courses -- the Ooty Golf Course -- and get an insight into the wonderful history of tea at the tea museum. In the evening, you can enjoy boating at the Ooty lake. Return back to the hotel and have a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 4: Ooty
After a delicious breakfast, visit Conoor, one of the most famous hill stations of the Nilgiri hills, by the famous toy train (Buy a train ticket directly 1 hour prior to the journey). The car will be waiting for you at the Conoor railway station. After the enjoyable train journey, proceed to visit the beautiful botanical garden or Sim’s Park, Lamb’s Rock that overlooks the Coimbatore plains and the Dolphin’s Nose. After sightseeing, drive back to Ooty and enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel in Ooty.

Day 5: Ooty – Mysore (2 h 47 min/125kms)

After a delightful breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive to Mysore. On arrival, check in to the hotel and go out for sightseeing. The Mysore Zoo and Mysore Palace are some of the famous attractions. You can also enjoy shopping at the local market. In the evening, visit the Brindavan Gardens and then return back to the hotel in Mysore to enjoy a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 6: Departure from Mysore-Airport (172kms/ 2h 30min)
After a hearty breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed to Bangalore airport/Railway station for your return journey.
